You may reach the jetty either by boarding a local bus or by hiring a taxi. From Yerrata Jetty, board a boat or ferry that takes you to Long Island; this may take around 50-60 minutes.
Once on Long Island, you will continue adventuring with a private, chartered boat ride across to Merk Bay Beach. The trip across the water should take about an hour in good weather. There are only so many boats for hire, so to avoid delays, you should reserve your chartered boat in advance.
Those already visiting Long Island can, however, easily schedule the trip to Merk Bay Beach the following day after arrival. You may then continue your trip to Guitar Island before returning to Rangat or Long Island, whichever is next in your schedule.
One can visit Merk Bay Beach at any point in the year but from November to April it is very mild. The sea currents are not furious, hence this period gives the most comfortable and entertaining stay to visitors.
